ZAMBOANGA CITY: Abu Sayyaf militants have kidnapped Ces Oreña-Drilon, a multi-awarded broadcaster of the television network ABS-CBN, co-anchor in late news program Bandila, her crew Jimmy Encarnacion and Angelo Valderama and their companion Octavio Dinampo, were taken at the village of Kulasi in the town of Maimbung. Drilon’s team arrived in Sulu on Saturday from Zamboanga City, said Supt. Julasirim Kasim, the provincial police chief. Dinampo teaches political science at the Mindanao State University and is said to be helping Ces Drilon in her coverage.

The Philippine News Agency also reported that the broadcast journalist and two of her crew members were snatched by the Abu Sayyaf Group, quoting Philippine National Police-Autonomous Region of Muslim Mindanao Chief Supt. Joel Goltiao, confirming the abduction of the reporter and her crew. Which is said to be demanding P10 million from the Lopez-owned ABS-CBN for their release.

Meanwhile, Chief Superintendent Joel Goltiao, police regional director for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, said that:”Pinapakain naman sila [They are being fed well], they are well and alive, hindi sila nakatali [they are not tied] and nakakalabas sila [they are able to move around] but they are being escorted.”

Let our prayers heal the heart of the Abu Sayyaf Group - photoshop world your graphics and photoshop tutorials support our Philippine Government fight terrorist.

Nilo. I apologize in advance if it will seem that I am dumping all my angst on the issue at your blog. The thing is - it is true. Your blog was the first to pop-up when I googled this particular case, at this particular time when I can no longer hold my rants.

First off, my personal concern is that for her crew - specifically Jimmy Encarnacion or "Mang Jimmy". I know Jimmy personally as I have worked with him during my stint as a "merc-director" for ABS-CBN's news & public affairs.

Since prominence is a factor when it comes to news worthiness, it has become evident that the most important name involved in this tragedy has been dominated by the noun "Ces Drilon". Thus, and as proven systematically in the chain of ranks - safety of her crew seem to be a secondary objective. In fact, it is even ironic that there is no mention of their names in your blog, whereas I could sense specialty in photo-journalism as a cause within the header "Photoshop World". After all, these are camera men, Noli.

In my short stint at the network, I have observed many times how social classes have been practiced and encouraged within. In a typical taping day, it is always the major stars that get generous portions in catering services. The crew, who work tremendously hard as slaves - get the usual distribution. Thus, to set an example and humiliate these personalities, I made it a point during my supervision that I am the last one to take a plate or a meal ticket at the cafeteria.

Media consumers often are not aware of the realities behind a story. And for this, I could state to you that the name Ces Orena (I refuse to use her last name - Drilon, in respect to her husband Rox) is very synonymous with the term "power tripper" within the top brass of ABS-CBN's public affairs' staff. To be brutally honest, her name isn't in my prayer list. It is however, in my cursed list together with the ASG.

Ces' pursuit of a news material led her to where she is. Unfortunately, she took two good men - Jimmy Encarnacion and Angelo Valderama, and jeopardized their safety. She is in charge of this ENG team. They are her responsibility. Ces is not naive to the conduct of ASG. She knew of the risks, and she took it... for reasons of acquiring the usual "exclusive". And I can assure you, that as soon as she prevails - so will the power tripping, slavery, and lack of respect for the dignity of the crew would resume.

Their names are mentioned on his entry.Paragraph 1.

Thanks Couen for pointing it out. I stand corrected. My anger and frustration built up and it overwhelmed and blinded me. My apologies to Nilo as well.
